Delusion, Illusion, Hallucination

ஒரு நண்பர், Delusion, Illusion, Hallucination என்பவற்றிற்கான தமிழாக்கம் கேட்டிருந்தார். நான் நேரடிச் சொல்லைச் சொல்லாது சற்று சுற்றி வளைக்கிறேன். இதனுள்ள இணைகளைப் பார்த்துப் பின் வழக்கிற்கு வருவோம்.   

Delusion இழியிழுத்தம்;  இழுத்தம் = வேறொரு கருத்திற்கு இழுத்துப் போதல். இழுத்தத்திற்கு மாறாய் இழுப்பு/ இழுவை/ என்றுஞ் சொல்லலாம். இழிநிலைக்கு இழுத்துப் போவது இழியிழுத்தம் . இழி>இயி>ஏ என்றும் இம்முன்னொட்டு தமிழிலமையும். disappointment = ஏமாற்றம் என்பதில்வரும் ”ஏ” முன்னொட்டுக் கூட இப்படியானது தான்.  இழியிழுத்தத்தை ஏயிழுத்தம் என்றுஞ் சொல்லலாம். இன்னுஞ் சுருக்கி ஏய்ப்பு என்று பேச்சுவழக்கில் நாம் அழைக்கிறோம். என் பரிந்துரை அது தான். delude (v.) இழியிழு. மேற்சொன்ன காரணங்களால் ஏய்-என்றுஞ் சொல்லலாம். "deceive, impose upon, mislead the mind or judgment of," c. 1400, from Latin deludere "to play false; to mock, deceive," from de- "down, to one's detriment" (see de-) + ludere "to play". delusory இழியிழுத்துறு>ஏய்த்துறு; ludicrous decription இழியிழுக்கும்/ஏய்க்கும் விவரிப்பு; self-deluded = தானே இழுந்துகொள்ளல். தான் ஏய்த்தல்

அடுத்தது illusion (n.) உள்ளிழுத்தம் / உள்ளிழுப்பு. = உள்ளேய்ப்பு. உள்ளே இருக்கும் ஏய்ப்பு. mid-14c., "mockery, scorning, derision;" late 14c., "act of deception; deceptive appearance, apparition; delusion of the mind," from Old French illusion "a mocking, deceit, deception" (12c.), from Latin illusionem (nominative illusio) "a mocking, jesting, jeering; irony," from past-participle stem of illudere "mock at," literally "to play with," from assimilated form of in- "at, upon" (from PIE root *en "in") + ludere "to play" (see ludicrous). .

முடிவில் hallucinate (v.) அலையிழுத்தம் /அலை ஏய்ப்பு.  மாறி மாறி ஒன்றிலிருந்து இன்னொன்று என அலைப்படுத்தும் ஏய்ப்பு. "to have illusions," 1650s, from Latin alucinatus (later hallucinatus), past participle of alucinari "wander (in the mind), dream; talk unreasonably, ramble in thought," probably from Greek alyein, Attic halyein "wander in mind, be at a loss, be beside oneself (with grief, joy, perplexity), be distraught," also "wander about," which probably is related to alaomai "wander about" [Barnhart, Klein]. The Latin ending probably was influenced by vaticinari "to prophecy," also "to rave."
